check out this nifty site:
i tried a few…everything in Temecula scores bad. Our place in Boise did well, but the big shocker was College. Ok, maybe not, it scored 98 out of 100.

not to get to political but this article frightens me:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090908/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_health_care_overhaul
…so i can’t afford health care for my daughter, and now there is the possibility that my government will provide me insurance that will cost me in my taxes, and if i dont sign up they will fine me! awesome! seems like a win-win for the individual american!

ok, so this is my new favorite thing to do.
First, start up itunes with this link:
http://somafm.com/play/missioncontrol]
then, fire up the live video images of the mission itself:
http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html
you may need to turn off the sound on the nasa feed, otherwise you will get double audio of the nasa transmissions.

so my batteries in my flashlights keep dying, which is weird. my best flashlights are LED bulbs and should last forever. I have figured out the problem, see if you can spot it in this picture:

so, what you dont know is that erica took this picture at 8:15am this morning. That flashlight that is current on, I turned on at some point during the night, and then promptly offered little assistance to erica b/c i fell right back asleep. this makes me laugh. i’m glad my wife is patient and kind with me, and somehow offers amazing care in the middle of the night when i am out cold. welcome to my dead batteries.
so our little girl Clara has been given two monkey’s and we have named them Mojo & Mr. Teeny:

something tells me that clara is going to have some fun adventures with her little monkeys (and i hope she keeps the names)!
thanks to Matthew & Dawn for Mojo, and Nancy, Harry, Traci, and Andy for Mr Teeny
so, if you dont know already, music is very important to me…and that just might be the understatement of the day. Music is huge component of my life. i watch life happen with music always paired with what is happening. i have music turned on right now.
so, if you haven’t noticed, my little baby girl was born on the 29th, which was, to say the least again, amazing! erica and i were talking this morning and she asked me what song was playing when Clara was born.
I thought for a moment, and i couldn’t remeber! agh! thats aweful. but trusty itunes has a neat feature where it tells you the last time a song was played! Perfect.
I also remebered that i had itunes playing a worship playlist that is about 60 songs and we haven’t played it since the birth! Perfect.
so, i fired up itunes, took a look and found that when Clara was born the song playing was “All Creatures of our God and King” here are the lyrics:
All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
Thou silver moon with softer gleam!
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thou rushing wind that art so strong
Ye clouds that sail in Heaven along,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Thou rising moon, in praise rejoice,
Ye lights of evening, find a voice!
Thou flowing water, pure and clear,
Make music for thy Lord to hear,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Thou fire so masterful and bright,
That givest man both warmth and light.
Dear mother earth, who day by day
Unfoldest blessings on our way,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
The flowers and fruits that in thee grow,
Let them His glory also show.
And all ye men of tender heart,
Forgiving others, take your part,
O sing ye! Alleluia!
Ye who long pain and sorrow bear,
Praise God and on Him cast your care!
And thou most kind and gentle Death,
Waiting to hush our latest breath,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Thou leadest home the child of God,
And Christ our Lord the way hath trod.
Let all things their Creator bless,
And worship Him in humbleness,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
And praise the Spirit, Three in One!
Wow! Not to get to long winded here, but that brought a tear to my eye. So, now i want to take it a bit deeper. You may or may not know that those words were written by Saint Francis of Assisi.

Cool guy. You should learn about him. Ok, so he wrote that hymn. Ok, i’m not going to say this was intentional on our part… i will call it Providential Goodfortune… but we named our daughter Clara. Well one of the most famous Clara’s of all time was Saint Clare of Assisi, who was a friend and follower of Saint Francis! How awesome is that! I love it!
