Erica’s birthday & Thanksgiving November 30, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — micahanderica @ 2:48 pm

So, really this should be three separate posts, but I also should have done the first two last week, so since I am catching up this will have to do.

For my birthday Micah and his parents took me to the San Diego zoo. We have passes this year and have only been a few times so it was really fun to go again. The animals weren’t particularly active but we had fun talking and being together anyway. We decided to give Wayne and Ruth their Christmas present (from all the kids) early this year so they could use it on the rest of their vacation. We gave them a new 10 mega-pixel digital camera. Their old one was about 5 years old, and not really even worth using anymore so we thought it would be the perfect gift. Here is a rare picture of Micah and I together taken by Wayne on his new camera.

After the zoo we walked around Balboa park for a while. I haven’t been there in years and now I really want to go back and go to some of the museums. It is a beautiful place and I appreciate museums a lot more now than I did when I was 10 (thanks for taking us to so many of them when we were little even though we thought they were boring mom). Here’s a fun pic Micah took while we were walking.

After Balboa Park we went to one of my favorite restaurants in S.D. it’s called Lotsa Pasta. It is sooooooo good. You can pick your pasta sauce (they have tons) the kind of fresh pasta you want, they make it right there you can watch a guy pull the dough out and put it through the machine to make all the fun different shapes, then you pick which shape you want and if you want any extra meat or veggies on it. It’s really cool, unfortunately we didn’t remember to take any pictures while we were there.

On Thanksgiving day we had 11 people at our house. Micah and me, my mom and dad, his mom and dad, my cousin Leah and her boyfriend Scott, and our friends from church Brent and Alicia, with their little boy Judah. Brent and Alicia come over for most holidays with us. Alicia makes the best pies and they are from Idaho so we pretty much consider them family. My mom is Judah’s official “California grandma” which makes her very happy since she has *given up* on me having kids.

I was going to put up more pictures but iphoto is frustrating me right now, so I guess you will just have to live with the two for now. I will add the rest of them as soon as I find where the edited pictures went!
