….as i was driving the other day i was thinking about my interactions with the people around me. as a grown adult, and normal member of society i have learned that it is my role to care what others think. to be careful not to drive in a manner that would hurt others. i speak to strangers with respect….and so on.

but, we have all met people in person, and see people on the road that live life with the mantra of “i dont care what the F___ you think”. sorry for the language but, really that is how strongly people live this life.

why is that so insulting and hard to handle? easy; for the most part, in life we will listen too and give others our attention. my buddy vince calls this voice and context.

so normal social convention is, i share what i think, you share what you think and we discuss.

non-normal is; i share what i think and ignore anything you might say or think.

so here is my very awful question: is the non-normal method, the communication method our churches have been using? it may not be on purpose, but it might be the method of communication that our christian sub-culture uses.

The millennials as a generation are twice the size of gen x, so they will quickly take over leadership roles and become a major political and social force (read already).

What is the church doing to address this growing mass of people. How are we addressing their giving? if your a paid church staffer your income will be coming from these people…they are very very very different from the boomers….are we, are you thinking about this?

• backpacking, hiking, biking and anything that has nothing to do with my commuting life!

…so i can’t afford health care for my daughter, and now there is the possibility that my government will provide me insurance that will cost me in my taxes, and if i dont sign up they will fine me!  awesome!  seems like a win-win for the individual american!

so, what you dont know is that erica took this picture at 8:15am this morning.  That flashlight that is current on, I turned on at some point during the night, and then promptly offered little assistance to erica b/c i fell right back asleep.  this makes me laugh.  i’m glad my wife is patient and kind with me, and somehow offers amazing care in the middle of the night when i am out cold.  welcome to my dead batteries.

something tells me that clara is going to have some fun adventures with her little monkeys (and i hope she keeps the names)!
